Ian has served as Fire Control Officer, Captain, Lieutenant and senior firefighter with Glen Forrest Volunteer Bushfire Brigade. He has 18 years bushfire response and mitigation experience including planning and implementing hazard reduction burns.
Nine years experience as a bushfire planning consultant in locations across Australia inclusive of BMPs, BEPs and RMPs.
Ian’s expertise as a Licensed Surveyor with over 35 years of experience in cadastral, construction and engineering surveying within Australia and overseas, provides an additional set of valuable skills to Bushfire Prone Planning. These skills combined with his knowledge of fire behaviour helps with giving advice on subdivision and development planning and assists the consulting team to create viable alternative solutions to solve problem scenarios.
