Bushfire Management Plan – 18 Lot Residential Subdivision

BPP were engaged by Edge Planning on behalf of the Shire of Williams to prepare a Bushfire Management Plans (BMP) to support the subdivision of a 2ha land parcel into 18 new residential lots.

Our Scope

Our involvement included:

  • Preparation of a comprehensive Bushfire Management Plan (BMP) for submission to the WAPC supporting the subdivision application
  • BAL assessment and BAL Contour Mapping
  • Broader Landscape Assessment (BLA)
  • Establishment of Asset Protection Zones (APZs)
  • Consideration of drainage and road reserves and implementation of restrictive covenants to guide future dwelling siting and ongoing vegetation management
  • Access and egress assessment in accordance with Planning for Bushfire Guidelines and SPP 3.7, including provision of new road connections to the existing road network
  • Water supply and emergency response considerations
  • Ongoing liaison with the Shire representatives, planners, Development WA and project consultants.

Bushfire Prone Planning provided an integrated bushfire planning outcome that enabled the subdivision to proceed while managing bushfire risk, combining strategic vegetation setbacks to ensure safe, compliant development outcomes for future residents and the future growth of Williams.
