Bushfire Management Plan – Shopping Centre and Land Subdivision

BPP were engaged by Woolworths Pty Ltd to prepare Bushfire Management Plans (BMPs) for the proposed Woolworths Shopping Centre development in Bullsbrook, including associated specialty retail tenancies, and subsequently for the subdivision of the land. The project forms part of the growing Bullsbrook townsite expansion and required careful integration of bushfire planning measures within a developing urban precinct.

Our Scope

Our involvement included:

  • Preparation of a comprehensive Bushfire Management Plan (BMP) for the proposed Woolworths shopping centre and specialty stores
  • Detailed bushfire hazard assessment of the site and surrounding landscape
  • BAL assessment and mapping
  • Establishment of Asset Protection Zones (APZs)
  • Access and egress assessment in accordance with Planning for Bushfire Guidelines and SPP 3.7
  • Water supply and emergency response considerations
  • Ongoing liaison with planners, design consultants, and approving authorities

Following approval of the commercial development, we were further engaged to prepare a separate BMP to support subdivision of the land, ensuring future lots could be developed in compliance with State bushfire planning requirements.
