Senior Bushfire Consultant – Coordinator Resourcing & Workflow
Working in the bushfire planning industry as a bushfire consultant since 2010, Greg Dunstan has prepared bushfire management plans and bushfire attack level assessments for a broad range of developments in bushfire prone areas throughout Western Australia, including remote areas of the Kimberley and Pilbara Regions.
Greg has worked within Local Government for 10 years in an emergency management position, including bushfire management planning advice and approvals. He has undertaken a range of training with the Department of Fire & Emergency Services and gained a number of emergency response and management competencies. He has worked operationally in bushfires throughout the Perth North and Perth South Bushfire Regions and has extensive knowledge of wildfire behaviour, mitigation and lessening the impact on infrastructure.
Greg has over 30 years’ combined experience in bushfire fighting, bushfire planning and prevention strategies, including time served as a volunteer and subsequently is a National Medal recipient. Former roles performed within the bushfire service area have included; Deputy Chief Bush Fire Control Officer, Local Emergency Management Committee member – Local Government representative, Bushfire Advisory Committee member, Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Captain & Fire Control Officer with the Parkerville Volunteer Bushfire Brigade and member of the DFES Volunteer Air Operations Group – Air Observer.
Previously working in the building industry and as a Lecturer in the area of Carpentry & Joinery, Greg has a practical hands-on approach to bushfire management, drawing on experience from bushfire fighting, bushfire mitigation and the building and construction industry.
