Mike Scott is one of Western Australia’s most experienced Bushfire behaviour analysts. He has extensive experience in subdivision planning and development, bushfire risk management, strategic planning and state wide bushfire management.

He has completed a Graduate Certificate in Business, Diploma of Forestry and Forest Products, and a Graduate Diploma in Bushfire Protection.

Over the past two decades, Mike has gained experience with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), the Shire of Mundaring and other Local Governments. He’s managed fire and emergency service portfolios, headed prescribed burning programs, developed countless strategic plans, established training programs for Local Government and co-authored many projects (including the States Bushfire Mitigation Framework and States Tenure-Blind Bushfire Risk Management Plans). In conjunction with fellow BPP Director, Kathy Nastov, Mike has co-developed and managed the Department of Education High Bushfire Risk School Program for the Department of Education.

Mike has also been called to act as an Expert Witness on a number of bushfire related project on behalf of both private clients and the State Government.
